InREC-36

A bi-direction (solar) inverter

The InREC36 is a high-performance inverter designed for industrial and large-scale energy applications. Serving as the core of a modern energy system, it converts generated direct current into grid-compatible alternating current and functions as an intelligent interface between decentralized energy generation and the electrical grid. Energy is not only converted, but also distributed and strategically deployed.

In collaboration with the development team of REConvert B.V., I worked on the development of this inverter. My primary responsibility was the design and engineering of the enclosure, including concept development, 3D CAD modeling, creation of the bill of materials, 2D technical drawings, supplier tendering, revision control, and production management.

With a total weight of approximately 40 kg, the enclosure was designed with functionality and ergonomics as key principles. Integrated side handles and a custom wall bracket enable fast, safe, and efficient installation. Both the enclosure and internal components are thermally optimized, resulting in effective heat dissipation and high operational efficiency of the inverter.

My role covered the complete process, from industrial design and mechanical engineering through prototyping, design for manufacturing, and production supervision. The design is fully documented in a structured production dossier, enabling manufacturing by multiple suppliers and ensuring scalability from low to high production volumes. The InREC36 has since been produced, tested, and is fully operational. Representing a reliable industrial product.
